Our 10+ year legacy of economic justice and worker power organizing includes:

Legislative & Local Policy Wins

  • Passed the Workers' Bill of Rights in New Orleans with 80% of the vote

  • Won New Orleans and Baton Rouge city ordinances enacting our Economic Justice 3-Point Platform, raising wages for city workers and combatting discriminatory policies

  • Passed the state Fair Chance Hiring Act protecting workers with arrest records from discrimination

Corporate Accountability Victories

  • Won safety shareholders resolution and OSHA settlements at Dollar General and Dollar Tree that led to millions invested in safety infrastructure

  • Won a $15 minimum wage for all LCMC workers with National Nurses United

Leadership Training & Coalition Building

  • Created the Organizer in Training (OIT) program and built one of Louisiana's largest field organizing programs with Power Coalition and Popular Democracy

  • Established the Healthy Workplace Program with the New Orleans Health Department 

  • Supported workers organizing across many unions

  • Organized with our immigrant and working-class community against discrimination and ICE raids
